MOVEMENT LABORATORY

Measuring instead of guessing: movement analysis, performance diagnostics and the individualised training we work with.

Performance optimisation and rehabilitation through diagnostics-driven training

Modern sports medicine uses scientific evidence and regular diagnostics to make everyday fitness and athletic performance systematic and measurable.

The right package for your goal

Return-to-sport process

Back into sport after an injury or a longer break.

Suitable for checking basic physical function and load capacity for resuming activity after an injury or treatment.

Duration:
approx. 1 hour

Included:

  • Strength tests
  • Mobility and coordination analysis
  • First dynamic load tests
  • Check of muscular activation

Goal: To assess the physical prerequisites for safely resuming everyday activity and build-up training.

Return to Sport (RTS): back into the sport

For the differentiated assessment of sport-specific abilities on the way back to the usual athletic load.

Duration:
approx. 2 hours

Included:

  • Strength tests
  • Jump and hop tests
  • Agility and change-of-direction tests
  • Reaction and coordination tests
  • If required: EMG

Goal: To check sport-specific load capacity and to recognise possible deficits before returning to the sport.

Return to Competition (RTC): back into competition

For the further assessment of complex and highly dynamic demands before returning to competitive sport.

Duration:
approx. 3 hours

Included:

  • Highly dynamic load tests
  • Reaction and decision-making in motion
  • Complex movement and decision situations
  • Movement and performance analysis under fatigue
  • Performance and readiness analysis at competition level

Goal: To assess competition-specific load capacity in detail.

Diagnostics and analysis packages

For everyone who wants to learn their current physical status and find concrete starting points for training.

Duration:
approx. 1 hour

Included:

  • Mobility diagnostics
  • Reaction and coordination tests
  • Strength measurement
  • Debrief and individual training recommendation

Your benefit: You get an overview of where you currently stand, recognise possible weaknesses and potential, and receive concrete recommendations for your further training.

Performance: the performance upgrade

For athletes who want to analyse their performance in detail and develop it in a targeted way.

approx. 2 hours

Included:

  • Mobility diagnostics
  • Coordination and dynamic balance tests
  • Specific strength measurement
  • Jump and explosive strength analysis
  • Reactivity and agility tests
  • Debrief and individual recommendations for adjusting training

Your benefit: Measurable performance values, a better understanding of where your performance stands, and an individual approach to targeted improvement.

Specialized: highly specialised analysis

For ambitious athletes and complex questions that call for a particularly comprehensive analysis.

Duration:
approx. 3 hours

Included:

  • Mobility diagnostics
  • Extended coordination and dynamic balance tests
  • Extended strength, explosive strength and jump analyses
  • Individual and combined reactivity and agility tests
  • Muscle activity analysis using electromyography (EMG)
  • Debrief and individual training optimisation

Your benefit: An in-depth analysis of your physical performance, the identification of development potential and a clear strategy for your further performance development.

Consultation, training and therapy

Clarify questions, get interdisciplinary advice and take new training impulses with you. Ideally on the basis of a diagnostic session: then we can work specifically on your individual weaknesses and draw up a training plan together with you.

Individual training sessions

Freely combinable, with or without a package.

On offer:

  • EMG biofeedback training as part of individual training planning (approx. 30 minutes)
  • Skillcourt training (approx. 30 minutes)
  • Isotonic strength training (approx. 30 minutes)
  • App-guided training plan design (approx. 60 minutes)
Starter package

For getting started, with an individual analysis and a training session built on it.

Scope:
Analysis + 1 training session
RTS package

For everyone who wants not only to learn their results but to work on them across several targeted training sessions.

Scope:
Analysis + 3 training sessions

These are self-pay services; prices depend on package, age group and performance level. A cancellation fee of 30 % applies if an appointment is cancelled less than 48 hours beforehand.

Frequently asked questions

Who can use the movement laboratory?

The service is aimed at recreational and competitive athletes, junior and youth athletes, and other physically active people. Clubs and coaches are welcome to ask about individual arrangements.

Do I have to be a patient of Sportklinik Freiburg already?

No. In principle anyone can book an appointment at the movement laboratory.

What happens during an appointment?

We begin by discussing your goals and your individual starting point. The appropriate tests follow. We evaluate the results together, and they form the basis for tailored recommendations and possible training measures.

Will my health insurance cover the cost?

Whether and to what extent private health insurers cover the cost depends on your individual tariff. With statutory health insurers a decision is needed in each individual case. In any case, please clarify cover with your insurer before the appointment.

Can I track my progress?

Yes. Results can be documented and compared with later measurements, which makes changes and any further training needs traceable.
